No, this is not a post about the advantages of integrating social media and email marketing or some great social email marketing case study.
It’s about ESP StrongMail itself. The company announced “record revenue in 2009”.
And it looks as if the innovations and acquisitions of the ESP regarding social media and email marketing have played a prominent role.
Remember that last year StrongMail acquired social media marketing company PopularMedia.
The company also was one of the first to integrate social media, viral marketing and email marketing.
It integrated PopularMedia’s technology into StrongMail Social Studio, thus, and I quote, “providing marketers with centralized, enterprise-level solutions for integrating social media into their email marketing programs to drive new customer acquisition and loyalty programs”.
PopularMedia was not the only company StrongMail acquired last year. It also acquired email marketing consultancy The Email Advisor.
StrongMail claims that its StrongMail Influencer “remains the industry’s most powerful and proven viral marketing solution”.
CEO Sam Cece refers to the steps the ESP has taken in the social email marketing field when he comments on the strong results.
He says “Our success lies not just with our unique ability to save large companies millions of dollars — it’s equally about enabling marketers to reach, engage and convert their prospects and customers. In this way, StrongMail is expanding the boundaries of what’s possible with email marketing and enabling the monetization of new social channels.”
Update October 2015: StrongMail is now StrongView and has merged with Selligent
